Comments: Nothing can bring you sorrow if it has not already brought you joy. The depth of your sorrow speaks to the type of being Jack was and is. You WILL see him again and be with him for the rest of eternity! But while you're here the love you invest in all the other lost Labs is a testament to the honor you are showing Jack.

Comments: Hi Jack it is your mom today July 8, 2007 five years you have been gone.  The story below is for you Jack.

Clay was adopted today :o)

The handsome black Labbie that Tina has been fostering found his forever home ...  with Tina!!

Tina has fostered for Lab Rescue and the Jacksonville Humane Society for several years, in honor of Jack, her previous Lab.  Tina has literally saved many, many lives and is such a devoted and loving foster mom that I am just thrilled she now has a Lab of her own.

Clay is a wonderful Lab who has literally blossomed in Tina's care.  He came to Lab Rescue via the shelter in Putnam County, Palatka.  Another rescue group called Kim our accountant ... who called me ...  all we knew was that there was a young, black male Lab and he had to be pulled from the shelter the following day.  Kim and I are scrambling, making calls and shooting off emails ...  next thing we know, another rescue commits to transporting the Lab to Jacksonville on a Friday night and the local Akita rescue volunteer would board him that night till we could get him the following day.  A wonderful example of how many volunteers it often takes to save a life.

Tina took care of Clay while he went through heartworm treatment and patiently introduced him to the joys of living inside, play time in the yard, exploring the neighborhood on a leash and making friends at the dog park.

Congratulations Tina and Clay!!

Michelle

Clay was thought to have kennel cough but wasn't sure since I am (was) the only foster that did not have a dog of my own I took him as I did all the others.  As it turned he did not have kennel cough.  Clay was a very nervous dog and you could tell he had been badly abused both physical and verbal.  It was a slow walk with socializing him but Clay graduated.  He has ways like you Jack.  Clay shows his love for me like you did.  He has his very own sweet personality as well but in my heart Jack I know you had Clay sent to me.  Clay went through several hands to get to me and when I think back looking at all the situations I knew this boy was meant for me.  I had no intentions of keeping him but as the walls starting closing in and I knew Clay was going to soon be gone something came over me and this guy started stirring my heart my stomach felt sick and my eyes weepy.  I couldn't let him go.  Thank you Jack for having Clay sent to me.  I love you Jack my sweet boy.  Your pictures are everywhere and some will be shared with Clay.  I guess you can have a second love.  Clay is almost four years (Aug 3, 2003) and I feel like I have had him all his life.  You did well Jack I love Clay with all my heart as I do you.  Until we meet again Jack you are forever in my heart.

  WITH ALL MY LOVE

         MOM
