Big Changes in the Prayer List!
This used to be
where we posted a current list
of our pets in need of prayer. However, we began to receive so many
prayer requests that it became difficult to keep everyone who
had signed up to prayer for our pets updated in an efficient yet
not overwhelming manner. We decided that it would be better to
move the Prayer List to a new format that keeps our prayer
volunteers up to date but doesn't overflow their email inbox. As
of July 22, 2009 our prayer list is now being posted on the
Animals at Heart Pet Prayer Network Facebook Page.
Why Facebook?
Facebook, a
popular social networking tool, allows us to update the prayer
list several times a day and it automatically sends updates to
our prayer volunteers who have joined through Facebook. Facebook
allows us to reach a larger number of volunteers with fewer
complications - no more emails being blocked by spam filters, no
more people opting out of our volunteer network because of too
many emails, and no more lag in email delivery time.
How it Works - submitting a pet's
information for prayer, step by step
Pet owners are
still required to add a prayer to the prayer list using our
form. The form is important because it guides the pet owner
through the process of providing us important information. The
first step in submitting your pet's information for prayer is to
log on to the Animals at Heart website and click on the link for
'Add a Pet' in the menu bar to the left. This will take you to a
form where all you have to do is answer a few questions. It will
ask you for your email address and location - we do NOT sell
your information! We need your email address so that we can
reach you should there be any questions or concerns about your
pet being added to the prayer list. Your location helps us with
demographics of where our prayer list is being used. So far
we've assisted pets and their families in China, Russia, Canada,
the Philippines, Latvia, and almost all 50 states of the USA. We
wouldn't be able to make that claim if we didn't ask where our
prayer list pets are located. Hearing that our prayer list is so
far reaching helps us to enlist prayer volunteers and motivates
them to stay active. Once you've finished filling out the form
and clicked submit, your information is sent to our team members
who maintain the prayer list. They then log on and update the
Animals at Heart Pet Prayer Network page on Facebook. Once they
add the update, Facebook then posts a note on the main page of
every person who has joined as a 'fan' of our Pet Prayer Network
page.
If you have a pet
on the prayer list, please remember to keep us up to date on how your
pet is doing. Updates can be sent by
